London Office Refurbishment
Government Agency Office Interior
Office design and fit out for a London representative office in St James SW1. This central London office provides a base for visiting staff and for a permanent team based in London. This London office interior design is a mix of workspace, meeting areas and flexible event space.
The use of strong branding images on digitally printed wallpaper is a key feature, alongside good quality office furniture, carefully selected to meet a public-sector budget.
Designing an office interior for a government agency balances individual requirements for the current team with the longer term demands that multiple users will make. There is also a need to keep the interior as timeless as possible yet current and contemporary. Materials and finishes have been kept to a simple palette, with good quality fabric and veneers on the furniture and a neutral background on walls, flooring, etc. The strongly branded graphics are easily updated without disturbing the overall office fit-out.
Space planning for this London office fit out placed the meeting and event spaces closest to the entrance, with a route to ‘back office’ which is located away from the first impression point, but still in visual contact with the head of the agency. A teapoint is a central hub for all zones. The main meeting room is adjacent to a soft seating lounge, and both spaces can be used as an overall event area. The soft seating was chosen to allow easy reconfiguration whilst having the presence to give the lounge a sense of purpose and identity in its own right.
Fit Out Project Management
Office design and fit out in London includes the additional challenge of transport and logistics. A carefully project-managed program included designated offload days with additional labour to ensure vehicles and deliveries could be handled without disruption to traffic or problem with parking restrictions. The completed London office fit-out was fully furnished and operational on the agreed completion date, handed over as a turnkey project.
