Office fit out to new premises in south west London for an expanding marketing and design company. Unique solutions for every part of the office combine to create a flexible, unconventional, space that reflects the individual character of Base One.

A conventional CAT A landlords fit-out provided limited scope for the quirky and distinct office environment originally in the sights for Base One. The office design brief focused on the ways of working within the office, previously hindered by the fragmented offices occupied before the relocation. Starting with the concept of a flexible worksurface, alongside mobile but less nomadic hardware caddies and storage, the office design built upon the need to eliminate barriers to team working. The wish to move personal design boards to a client-facing space was also on the list, and the variety of brain-storming, workshop, presentation and meeting areas needed to support the diverse needs of staff and visitors.

Eye-catching colours, shapes and fit-out solutions achieved an office interior that defies pigeonholing, but still manages to deliver on the practical processes that take place in every office. Post-occupation changes to the office layout, and uplift in staff numbers, have been achieved without disruption or cost of changing the initial layout….one of the objectives in the original office design brief.

Another major objective….offices that Clients want to visit….has been fully accomplished, marking a big change to the working of Base One Group.

n numbers this media company office fit out project amounted to a total spend of £272,000 equating to £6800 per person including furniture, or a fit-out cost of £55 per square foot (£590 per square metre). Initially Base One occupied the space at 125 square foot per head.
